About CARKE
Our Story
For over 40 years, CARKE has been at the heart of building a stronger, more vibrant community in and around the Town of Brome Lake. What began in 1980 as a small group of local volunteers raising funds to purchase a home for intellectually challenged residents has grown into a respected foundation supporting social, cultural, and recreational projects that benefit everyone.
From helping create Centre Lac-Brome to building the outdoor rink, splash pad, and Terrasse CARKE lakefront park, our mission has always been the same: to invest in meaningful, lasting projects that bring people together and enhance the quality of life in our region. We choose our projects carefully, taking action only when we see a clear and compelling opportunity to make a difference — and when our resources can have the greatest impact.
Driven by volunteers and powered by community generosity, CARKE continues to support capital projects that reflect the spirit, needs, and aspirations of our neighbours. Together, we make this place extraordinary.
